
HSE Lyceum Student Speaks at UN Forum in New York
Polina Nesterenko, who completed Year 10 at the HSE Lyceum this year, took part in the 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the United Nations’ main annual forum for monitoring progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Held at UN Headquarters in New York, the forum brings together representatives of states, UN agencies, international organisations, civil society, business, and academia each year to discuss the global sustainable development agenda.

HSE Lyceum Student Wins Bronze at International Economics Olympiad
Bakhtier Mirzoev, who graduated from the HSE Lyceum this year, won a bronze medal at the 2026 International Economics Olympiad (IEO 2026) in China. The annual competition features five-person teams selected from the winners and prizewinners of national olympiads. From AI to Urban Studies: HSE University’s Online Campus Graduates More Than 2,000 Master’s Students
The Class of 2026 has become the largest in the history of HSE University’s online campus, with more than twice as many graduates as last year. A total of 2,023 students completed their studies across 28 online master’s programmes, covering disciplines ranging from psychology and law to cybersecurity and digital urban studies. For 10 of these programmes, this was the first cohort of graduates.

International Dialogue and New Approaches: Highlights from Fudan University’s Summer School
At the beginning of July 2026, students from the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs took part in the Summer School on International Relations organised by Fudan University (China), one of the leading international educational programmes in this field. Over the course of two weeks, they explored contemporary approaches to global governance and the development of the Global South, attended lectures by renowned scholars from around the world, and discussed current international issues with fellow students from across the globe.

‘Combining the Strengths of Different Universities’
In the 2025/26 academic year, students graduated from 14 joint degree programmes—eight bachelor's and six master's programmes—delivered by HSE University in partnership with other universities across Russia and neighbouring countries at the campuses of those partner institutions. Admissions to these programmes are managed by the partner universities, and graduates receive diplomas from both the partner university and HSE University.

AI for Doctors: HSE Faculty of Computer Science Delivers Course for Russian University of Medicine Students
In June 2026, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) completed a course on the use of artificial intelligence in medicine for first-year Paediatrics students at the Russian University of Medicine. The course was delivered with support from a grant awarded to HSE University under the Artificial Intelligence federal project, part of the national project ‘Data Economy and the Digital Transformation of the State.’
Russian Phonetics, Chemistry, and Moscow Studies: Prep Year’s Big Plans for Next Academic Year
On July 3, 2026, the International Preparatory Year programme held its graduation ceremony. This academic year,235 students from 57 countries were enrolled in the programme. Many of the graduates will continue their studies on HSE University bachelor’s and master’s programmes in 29 fields.
